Gratitude at Thanksgiving

In Memoir by Lea

Gratitude at Thanksgiving - a wreath encircling a tree with red leaves.

I will be off for the next week. This upcoming weekend is Thanksgiving. It’s my favourite holiday because it centres around family. My husband and I are supposed to be out east but Covid19 has scuttled our plans once again. However, we’re lucky enough to be surrounded by amazing friends who are family.

I have so much to be grateful for this Thanksgiving. I don’t need to tell you that this holiday is an unusual one. The pandemic has turned our world upside down and inside out and it looks like nothing is going back to “normal” anytime soon. Meanwhile, many people continue to go to their jobs amidst the upheaval and unknowns. I’m grateful for you – the grocery store checkout employees, the truck drivers, the medical practitioners in our hospitals, the maintenance workers cleaning our buildings and the list goes on.

Thank you.
